Those mustangs just …
Those mustangs just have an old timer’s suspension, if Ford just gave them something current then they would be much more respectable.

1.8L comparing it …
1.8L comparing it to the 4.6L V8 and wanting to talk about ford, race against an RS200, see how that 1.8L Supercharged motor with 200 something horsepower compares to Ford’s 2.3L Turbocharged 7-5-0HP motor fitted in a complete fiberglass body and aluminum chassis with all wheel drive. its all about how efficiently that motor can handle forced induction and how light the vehicle is.

Like I said, people …
Like I said, people go straight most of the time commuting, they don’t turn corners going 70mph… Mustang is made for the day to day driver consumer. Lotus Elise isn’t.

4 uniqunik 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

going straight is …
going straight is no good. cars need to handle or ‘ the out

5 WretchedDrake 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

My thoughts exactly …
My thoughts exactly, Top Gear loves to rip on non British cars, or most of the time American. It’s annoying.

American cars are meant to go in a straight line, which is how most people drive commuting places, something Top Gear doesn’t understand.

I watch it because …
I watch it because i actually like the show… I watch it because I love cars, no matter what country makes them, I think britain makes gorgeous cars, so does america, but obviously me and alot of other people aren’t the same.

9 rudeydudey05 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

How are they soar …
How are they soar losers? Top Gear is ment to be be fun and full of antics, its not supposed to be taken Seriously. I dont see why you watch it if it annoys you that much.

10 enacra101 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

these cars arent …
these cars arent even in the same class?
the mustang is a muscle car..heavy..slow acceleration

the lotus is a speedy coupe.. extremely light.. built for tight corners..

this is pointless..

this show can be a little bit annoying at times.. i dont give a if its aimed at british people.. they can be soo biased with this show its insane.. such soar losers.. im american if another countrys car is better i accept it..italy makes fantastic stuff so does japan but britain is so insecure…

11 rudeydudey05 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

I’m sure they have …
I’m sure they have both passed Strenuous crash test programs.

12 monstermrs 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

why would you WANT …
why would you WANT to crash the cars, i mean i know happens but come on….lol….yeah its true…..they just wanted to make the mustang look bad lmao

13 AmericansSexualPreds 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

the only thing is …
the only thing is that lotus is light whyle the for mustanf is mabe 3 times heavier so why the the comparison, retarded brits, lets crash them ans lets ee who lives inside

14 rudeydudey05 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

I wouldnt compare …
I wouldnt compare Megan Fox to the Mustang, i would compare the car to Bette Midler, she might be a old girl with a few face lifts despite having a big booty and a huge mouth, she still can make a nice noise.

15 costcofreak 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

comparing a mustang …
comparing a mustang to a lotus exige is like comparing megan fox to sally fields :-)

Well, there’s your …
Well, there’s your problem!

Although, if they let Chrysler design the track they’d probably just take out a highlighter, color in the runway and say, “There’s your track, now go find a Hemi Charger.”

17 LostChildOfTime 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

Oh, and I almost …
Oh, and I almost forgot. The Top Gear track – was in fact… no bullshit… without a doubt, I promise you…

Designed by Lotus. LOL

18 LostChildOfTime 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

Fitting in the …
Fitting in the Exige isn’t a problem if you’re tall as it does have adequate headroom. It’s just the entry/exit is big enough to crawl into than sitting down into, lol.

19 LostChildOfTime 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

If you look at Top …
If you look at Top Gear’s Wiki, you’ll see that the Murcielago was retested. It did a 1:23.7 retested compared to the Gallardo’s 1:25.8 (wet) and the Gallardo Spyder’s 1:25.7 (dry).

The Murcielago LP670-4 did a 1:19.0 and the Gallardo LP560-4 did a 1:19.5.

So the little brother even by the Top Gear track is very much in it’s younger sibling place.

20 LostChildOfTime 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

If you put a …
If you put a $70,000 American car against a $70,000 UK car…

That’s no different than putting a $150,000 UK car against a $70,000 UK car.

My point is American cars are cheap. They are not priced like the cars they compare to. If Chevy’s Corvette and Ford’s Mustang were not built with cheap materials, they would be sold for higher.

The grounds for comparison are a lot fairer when it comes to performance, not price. The U.S. is just trying to profit, not give the consumer a quality bargain.

1. The Lotus Exige …
1. The Lotus Exige costs about the same as the supercharged Ford Mustang GT
2. Any European car is miles better on and off the track than any American car
3. The British have a military!! And a very good one at that!
YOU IGNORANT DUMB ASS!
Next time actually know the your going to talk about before it spills out of your vile mouth

22 chrisdef15 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

LOL some of …
LOL some of you people are stupid. America isnt the world dumbass, ide bet in the Uk they are very similarly priced. I know here in Aus its actually the Mustang that is more expensive.
US protect someone? LOL nice one.

23 JETZcorp 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

If it’s a …
If it’s a horsepower track, then why did the Murcielago, which is 100hp down from the Gallardo, get beaten by its little brother?

Also, there’s still the point that the Mustang isn’t designed for a track, and doesn’t pretend to be. It’s designed purely to say, “Look at me, I’m big and I’ve got lots of horsepower!” It’s a car that an average dude takes on the road on Sunday to have a good time, and it’s very good at it. The Lotus is designed for the track, and comes with plates as a bonus.

24 rudeydudey05 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

How much does the …
How much does the Roush Mustang cost?

Because the Exige beat that too on one of Clarksons shows.

25 theA0027 11.11.09 at 4:56 am

the lotus is …
the lotus is awesome and lighter and the mustang lost fair and squar
