The Lotus guy also was obviously concerned about hitting the E-type because he was braking when he could have been on the throttle.

The Lotus could brake later therfore could be on the gas sooner but just did’nt have the power.

Great driving by the Lotus guy. I bet he could have gotten that Jag through the turns faster.

jaguars engine was better for striaghts, but the lotus came back in the corners..

WOW that was CUT7!? COOL;-) Such a shame to have to race against a XKE & have a car that not only can’t hold as tight a turn but also not have enough to over take the E-Type on the streightaway as well, BooHoo! Enjoyed very much & THANKS. Jay

Man, how I would lovfe to do some serious car racing. far too expensive though. what i love most in these vids is when you can hear the car in front as well… good driving by the elan as well, gets smoked on the straights though. bet he wishes for a bigger engine there!

CUT 7 is a legend amongst motoring enthusiasts. Must have been incredible to race it!

Yes, but only one …
Yes, but only one Sayer Coupe (CUT7- once driven by Dick Protheroe) there was also a low drag coupe done by Lindner-Nocker but was a bit grotesque and another hideous attempt done by Samir Klat.
The one here is CUT7 – by far the prettiest E-type and the only real Sayer Low Drag Coupe

No it’s not a C …
No it’s not a C type it’s an E type lightweight low drag coupe. CUT 7 is a very famous car. About a dozen of these vehicles were built by the factory to take on Ferraris in long distance races such as Le Mans.

It’s probably hard to tell from the video but it looked like you were taking some rather odd lines through the tighter corners.

The Lotus can …
The Lotus can clearly brake later and with a shorter wheelbase can take the turns better, but the Jag just walks away. Great video, good driver in the Lotus to keep up.

the jaj just creams it in the strights but he lotus is much better in the corners
