Yea, the problem …
Yea, the problem was there was a latch and 2 rubber “pull downs” holding the bonnet. The latch failed and under braking the rubber pulldowns let the bonnet slide forward. Really, as a production car, it was not designed to work that way.
I know have pins that will stop the bonnet from sliding forward and must be removed before anything can be removed.
Trust me, I’ve seen hoods and cowelings fly off because of failed Dzus fasteners and other problems. Another racing lesson learned.

Thanks for the comment. I recently got the entire bonnet repaired and painted since I wantedto enlarge the “scoop” anyway. thisis also my instructional video recommending the use of arm restraints. I’ve raced the car 3 times this year so far without incident…
