The Tesla’s frame is a custom extended frame designed by Lotus for the Roadster. It is not the Elise’s frame, so chase42106 is partly right (though I don’t think he’s right on the part that this is exactly the same frame as the Tesla, since the weight distribution is completely different, and the Tesla frame is designed to used the 1000lb battery pack as support).
