regarding the SLR (which stands for “Sport, Leicht, Rennsport”) both the engine and transmission are (were) made by AMG GmbH in Affalterbach near Stuttgart in Germany. That leaves the chassis and a few bits an bobs possibly made in the UK. Final assembly was in Woking. Production of the slr has since stopped with McLaren, and meanwhile Merc have pulled out of McLaren now too, as most will know.
