Who can tell me about the Original 1991-1995 C4 Corvette Zr1 with 405HP and Lotus Aluminum Marine Engine?

by Reed on November 20, 2009

I would liek to know more about the Pros and Cons of the original 1991-1995 C4 generation Corvette ZR1, that had the 405HP Engine (Most powerful untiul the Z06) and some details about it.

How many Black Widow packages were made? How good WAS the performance? Did people actually use the 300HP/400HP switch? Is this the one with the first-generation Run Flat Steel Tires, and can these still be bought?

Id liek some info, and surely somebody has some experience with one. And how wide WERE the back tires on this car? Thanks!
BdB: You -must- be 14.

The Corvette ZR1 came out -again,- but im talking about the FIRST one that came out, the one I liked. In 1991. It was discontinued in 1995.

It gave the current ZR1 a nameplate to fill. And it blew it away but the original one is still a car I like more, the new ZR1 almost looks like a Ferrari mixed with a Lamborghini to me…

You know how noticeable performance changes with a 100 lb passenger or not. Saving 3 times that weight by having an aluminum engine…..
